If your gums have gotten to the point of causing you pain and problems when eating, then you may be a candidate for periodontal plastic surgery. This surgery involves grafting of healthy tissue to places where the gums have receded in order to start the growth of healthy tissue.

If you have receding gum lines, then you will likely experience sensitive teeth, especially when drink or eat cold or hot food and drink. Gum surgery may remove these symptoms, but without an oral care plan it will only be temporary.
